Which sentence in this excerpt from “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman suggests that the narrator may be prone t

o hallucinations? I think sometimes that if I were only well enough to write a little it would relieve the press of ideas and rest me. But I find I get pretty tired when I try. It is so discouraging not to have any advice and companionship about my work. When I get really well, John says we will ask Cousin Henry and Julia down for a long visit; but he says he would as soon put fireworks in my pillow-case as to let me have those stimulating people about now. I wish I could get well faster. But I must not think about that. This paper looks to me as if it knew what a vicious influence it had!

Answer: This paper seems aware of the negative impact it exerts!

In The Yellow Wallpaper, a woman is confined in a room with yellow wallpaper due to her illness, while her husband, a doctor, believes rest and minimal stimulation will lead to her recovery. However, she experiences a sense of entrapment, and the absence of mental engagement causes her to start losing her sanity. An instance of this is her tendency to have hallucinations. This is evidenced in the text when she observes that the wallpaper appears to recognize its own harmful influence.

seraphim [7410]
Two instances of code-switching occur when Tan converses in "incorrect" or "broken" English with her mother in the initial personal narrative (when advising her mom against a purchase), and when she realizes that the English used for a literary event feels odd to present in front of her mother.

This experience of code-switching illustrates Tan's intricate background and Asian-American heritage because, unlike many individuals who may not come from immigrant families or are multilingual, she has been acutely conscious of certain sociolinguistic dynamics from an early age. For instance, while Tan's mother’s English is comprehensible to her, Tan often had to interpret for her mother in various situations to ensure understanding, seriousness, or fairness.

Leya [7781]
Karl Marx dedicated the majority of his life to studying at the British Museum concerning class society's nature and the working class’s capacity to formulate a socialist ideology, whereby the bourgeoisie would no longer govern, but rather the progressive factions of the working class would meet the needs of the majority, akin to the Cuban government's approach of offering free healthcare, education, and conditions like a lower child mortality rate compared to the US. Together with his collaborator Friedrich Engels in Britain, Marx posited that the working class emerged from the socialized production spurred by the Industrial Revolution, which congregated numerous workers within specific factories or mines. They further asserted that the new working class was the most scientific, strongest, and largest in history, fully capable of creating a society focused on the welfare of its people. Marx passed away before the Russian Revolution of 1917.
In George Orwell's Animal Farm, the character Old Major encouraged the animals to rise against their human oppressors. He, too, died prior to witnessing the success of their uprising.[
