According to Orlando's persuasive speech, he managed to alter some students' perspectives and boost class participation over a few months because his speech could produce a sleeper effect. This phenomenon in psychology relates to persuasion, as it results in a delayed impact after the audience has heard the message, explaining how Orlando's address influenced the students.

Answer:

Persuasive speech is the correct answer.

Explanation:

This type of speech aims to persuade the audience to adopt the speaker's viewpoint. It is structured so that all aspects of the speech are accepted by the audience. While the intention is to persuade, not every listener can be swayed by a single speech. A common example of persuasive speech is during a sales pitch, where a salesperson attempts to convince a buyer to purchase a product.

<span>#1) Discuss the ways in which the medieval Christian church both constrained and supported women.

Answer: Women in the medieval era found themselves either entering into marriage or taking vows as nuns. The church permitted them to ascend to significant roles, such as abbesses in convents. If they chose to be nuns, they were confined within the walls of monasteries, dedicating themselves to a life filled with prayer, contemplation, and labor.

How did the strategies of the Union and Confederacy differ during the Civil War? In your response, be sure to include the tactic
LenKa [1686]

At the war’s inception, the Confederacy adopted a defensive approach, whereas the Union opted for an offensive strategy. The Confederacy's defensive posture failed to match the strength of the Union forces, leading to successful incursions into Confederate regions by the Union. Over time, the Confederate army diminished in strength, prompting President Jefferson Davis to shift to a strategy combining offense and defense, which allowed for the safeguarding of territories while enabling strategic attacks or counterattacks. The Confederacy aimed not to conquer Union land, but simply to defend its right to secede. Unfortunately, the Confederacy's strategies proved ineffective against the might of the United States.

The Civil War fundamentally transformed warfare. Numerous technological innovations emerged, including the telegraph, railways, trench fighting, hot air balloons, and ironclads. In my view, the telegraph was the most significant of these developments. This invention enabled near-instantaneous long-distance communication. A dysfunctional telegraph could dramatically alter the outcome of a battle. The Union had a more dependable telegraph system than the Confederates, which likely played a crucial role in their success. Although railroads were first introduced in 1825, they gained importance only during the Civil War, enabling both sides to efficiently transport troops, supplies, and food. The first balloon flight occurred in 1783, yet the Civil War marked the initial use of balloons for reconnaissance and shelling support. Trench warfare became a reality during this conflict, extending combat durations. Ironclads represented a remarkable leap in naval combat due to their resilience.

B. Harriet will not go to trial but will be sentenced directly by the judge.

Harriet entered a guilty plea, eliminating the need to assess her guilt or innocence through a trial.

According to the 6th Amendment, every citizen has the right to a prompt trial and an unbiased jury. It also assures that the accused is entitled to legal representation. Sentencing should occur rapidly, and if Harriet wishes to have a trial, she would need to alter her plea to "not guilty."

In one paragraph, compare and contrast the similarities and differences found in the two accounts, and explain which account is
Xelga [1452]

Both narratives refer to individuals seeking safety in the Tower of David, but Fulcher asserts that everyone was killed, while al-Athir claims some surrendered and were spared. Both narratives agree that all in the Temple of Solomon were killed, yet Fulcher states that 10,000 died, whereas al-Athir contends that the number was 70,000. Fulcher’s account is likely the more dependable one as he experienced the event firsthand, and his narrative was recorded shortly after it occurred, while al-Athir wrote his account over a century later.
