In my view, this passage describes several dynamics. Rachel, the wife, feels jealousy toward her newborn daughter because her husband appears more focused on the baby than on her, despite her recently giving birth. It seems Rachel may have developed a medical condition during childbirth which worsens over time. She also harbors distrust of her husband, perceiving that the love and attention he once showed her have shifted to their child, which upsets her.

That’s my interpretation. I hope this helps!

What does the structure of “a servant to servants” reveal about the narrator? her mind is dominated by thoughts of her husband.
Lady bird [7499]
The narrative structure in “a servant to servants” indicates that the narrator possesses a rich and inventive imagination, largely due to her struggles with mental illness. She reflects on the mental health issues that impact her family as well as her personal experiences over the years with her brother. Additionally, she expresses a desire for rest rather than medication for her recovery, which remains elusive.

I believe the second option is correct. The terminology was adopted into English along with the concepts they illustrate. Since ballet was developed and perfected in France, the terms and steps were given French names to promote universal understanding.
