Answer:

until he stopped. He noticed something at the tunnel's end. It was tall and slender. He chose to approach it to discover what it was, yet the figure only seemed to retreat each time he advanced. Suddenly, it vanished completely. Determined to identify it, he sprinted toward the tunnel's end. A brilliant light greeted him, and then everything went dark. When he regained consciousness, he found himself back in his bedroom. Thus, he distanced himself again, only to find himself back in the same passage with the same enigmatic figure waiting at its end. He began to run after it once more, only for it to disappear again. A bright light enveloped him, and then darkness followed once more. Awakening in his bedroom again, he realized that the tunnel he kept traversing was where he had died, and to discover what death entailed, he had been hit by a truck, marking the end of his life. He was eternally reliving his demise.
