How does the internal structure of the earth influence the creation of the continents, ocean, and the mountain range

Heat from Earth’s radioactive core maintains the mantle’s plasticity. The mantle regions nearer the core are hotter than those close to the crust, producing convection currents. Those currents drag the overlying crust along, causing tectonic plate motion. At convergent boundaries, crustal plates are forced together to create fold mountains like the Himalayas. At divergent boundaries, crustal faulting and subsidence allow water to fill the depression, forming oceans.
