Throughout The Odyssey, Odysseus embodies heroic and near-divine traits. For instance, he cleverly tricks and blinds the Cyclops Polyphemus, protecting his crew from inevitable doom. He also boldly journeys to Hades to learn about his destiny. After making it back to Ithaca, Odysseus fights and overcomes all of Penelope's suitors, regaining his rightful home.

Aiden goes Silent: Which is the best summary of Paragraphs 1-3 of the story?
seraphim [7410]
I genuinely believe (A) is the most logical choice, although it would improve if the paragraphs were provided for clarity on this question. I can only make an assumption due to the absence of a narrative, so I lean towards (A)! It ties back to the title, "Aiden Goes Silent". So it's (A)...

Select the correct text(s) in the passage. In this excerpt from a video transcript, which two parts demonstrate the use of emoti
Naddik [7538]

Why does Dickinson set the poem “Dying” in an ordinary bedroom, which isn’t even described? What might be her purpose in choosin
Naddik [7538]
I believe the setting of a death should be a bedroom, as that is a place where a person suffering from an illness would typically be, especially in palliative care. The quietness of the bedroom is only interrupted by a fly, whose buzzing perhaps highlights the otherwise tranquil atmosphere. If the death were to occur outside or in a public venue, it would likely stem from an incident or an assassination, like that of Martin Luther King. Thus, a death occurring in a bedroom suggests a natural end due to sickness or old age.

What are two adjectives to describe John Steinbeck’s literary works?
Flura [7041]

Response:

Two fitting adjectives for John Steinbeck's writings are: plain and casual.

Clarification:

John Steinbeck authored twenty-seven works, comprising novels and short stories, his literature being recognized as social realism, adeptly mirroring the circumstances in the U.S. during the Great Depression.

His literary style bears resemblance to European naturalistic realism, rooted in the principles of historical determinism. His works can be characterized as straightforward and casual.
