Subject - Requirements for Test Marketing of Sensation Coffee

Since my store has been chosen to conduct the test marketing for the new Sensation Coffee, there are specific necessities that must be met for successful execution of the test marketing.

The initial requirement pertains to adequate staffing. My store enjoys a prime location with significant customer traffic. There are times when the existing staff is insufficient to serve all customers promptly, resulting in instances where I've had to assist at the counter. With the addition of this new product, an additional two staff members will be necessary to ensure we meet the demands of our test marketing launch. This requirement includes not only handling inquiries related to the new product but also offering recommendations for customers to try it. Given that the target audience for the new product is younger customers, it is crucial to employ individuals from a similar age demographic who are enthusiastic and energetic about this initiative.

The subsequent requirement involves employee training. It would be ideal for at least 50% of my workforce to be trained in preparing the new product. This training is essential since the new product entails unique ingredients and a different preparation process compared to existing items on the menu. Precision in the preparation of this new offering is vital, as any mistakes could compromise its quality and would therefore not reflect well during the test marketing effort. Training also instills confidence in staff regarding the preparation, translating to better service for the customers. Without adequate training, the workforce may not effectively promote this product among customers visiting the store. I believe training will ensure that what is produced aligns with customers' expectations, thereby facilitating objective feedback.

Another critical component is the equipment. As the new product necessitates special equipment, it is imperative to arrange for its installation in the store. Additionally, proper training for staff on handling and maintaining this equipment will be required. We also need a plan for servicing the equipment in the event of any malfunction. The equipment will require sufficient space, and I request that the installation team conduct a site visit to finalize an optimal location for operation. Furthermore, a proper manual should be established at the store for effective management of this equipment.

Introducing a new product involves obtaining both old and new ingredients. While managing the store, there are certain estimates governing the inventory. With the newly incorporated product, inventory management will require reassessment, likely necessitating an increase in supplies. I would ask that any need for increased inventory levels be taken into account, while also providing appropriate information on handling new ingredients to ensure that staff can manage inventory effectively and avoid wastage.

With these requirements outlined, we aim to conduct a standard test marketing technique and gather feedback regarding the new product from our customers' perspectives.

marusya05 [3725]

Answer:

c) Providing a discount for students and seniors.

Explanation:

Price discrimination occurs when a seller charges different prices for the same product to varying customers. It is typically employed to capitalize on consumer surplus.

When a chocolatier identifies a buyer group willing to pay less, they can focus on this demographic and provide them with a lower payment option.

In this scenario, offering discounts to students and seniors indicates that the chocolatier has recognized these groups as customers likely to purchase chocolates for less than $20.
