Read this excerpt from Immigrant Kids, by Russell Freedman. Now the examinations began. First the immigrants were examined by tw

o doctors of the United States Health Service. One doctor looked for physical and mental abnormalities. When a case aroused suspicion, the immigrant received a chalk mark on the right shoulder for further inspection: L for lameness, H for heart, X for mental defects, and so on. The second doctor watched for contagious and infectious diseases. He looked especially for infections of the scalp and at the eyelids for symptoms of trachoma, a blinding disease. Since trachoma caused more than half of all medical detentions, this doctor was greatly feared. He stood directly in the immigrant's path. With a swift movement, he would grab the immigrant's eyelid, pull it up, and peer beneath it. If all was well, the immigrant was passed on. Which detail best supports the idea that only immigrants with good health were allowed entrance into the United States? One doctor drew chalk marks on immigrants with health problems. The two doctors worked for the United States Health Service. An H mark on an immigrant meant he or she had heart problems. Trachoma is a blinding and very contagious eye disease.

Match each creation myth feature to the correct story outline. Tiles The story involves creation from nothing. The story depicts
seraphim [7410]
The narrative describes creation out of nothing: Initially, no animals, humans, plants, or trees existed; God’s command brought the world into existence, as in the biblical account where God's word (Logos) causes creation.

A myth illustrates Earth’s origin from a small piece of earth expanding: A huge cormorant dove underwater in search of food and, upon resurfacing, a mud lump stuck to its beak fell into the water. This lump grew, ultimately forming an island that became the Earth, reflecting a Mayan creation story.

Another tale explains creation as a consequence of natural forces interacting: The Sky and his younger brother, the Sea, engaged in a sword fight, and the sparks from their conflict resulted in the formation of planets.

The Forever Chocolate Chocolate company specializes in 3 types of chocolates: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolat
Naddik [7538]

Answer:

\frac{1}{5}

Explanation:

Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate make up the entirety of what The Forever Chocolate Company produces.

As a fraction, the equivalent of 100% is \frac{1}{1}.

White chocolate

If 0.5 represents white chocolate, it indicates that 0.5 is half of 1.

Thus, \frac{0.5}{1} =0.5 or \frac{1}{2}

This means that half of the total chocolate produced is white chocolate.

White chocolate constitutes 50%

30% is dark chocolate

Milk chocolate

Milk chocolate accounts for the remaining percentage:

100% - 80% = 20%

Milk chocolate constitutes 20%

Converting 20% to a fraction:

\frac{20}{100}= \frac{1}{5} or 0.2
