Based on the first paragraph, identify ONE argument made in the “classic narrative” of the Columbian encounter.
9966 [1733]

Response:

The "Columbian encounter" refers to the event on October 12, 1492, when Christopher Columbus along with a contingent of Spanish soldiers became the initial Europeans to step onto the shores of the Americas. This moment, recognized as America’s discovery, prompted the Spanish Empire along with other European nations (notably Portugal, France, Great Britain, and the Netherlands) to begin colonizing the continent, subsequently exploiting its land and resources. In traditional narratives surrounding this event, indigenous peoples are labeled as savages, suggesting they were wild and aggressive, which is biased as their actions were merely reactions to the violence inflicted by the Europeans during the conquest of their homelands.

Xelga [1652]
Objectivity refers to the ability to be unbiased when trying to achieve a goal through one’s actions. While I haven't personally focused on being objective during disputes, it seems crucial to listen to both sides thoroughly without appearing to favor one over the other. A neutral, third-party approach is ideal. While some individuals can be truly objective, many fail, especially if personal connections or biases come into play. Personally, I don't encounter many who maintain true objectivity.
