- Offer your time volunteering at a nearby school or join a neighborhood watch program.
- Seek assistance when needed: Encourage young people to understand the impact of risky actions, to communicate openly about problems, and to find support when necessary.
- Consult a counselor or confide in a trusted individual.
- Maintain open communication between parents and their children.
