For me, this task is quite simple since Spanish is my first language. I reside in Peru where everyone communicates in Spanish. However, the proficiency in Spanish here is lacking, with many individuals making errors. I believe the primary issue is the lack of reading. Generally, people in Peru do not read much, and this might also be an issue in the USA. Personally, I read a newspaper daily and enjoy doing crosswords. Recently, I won $150 in a crossword raffle. Reading is fantastic as it allows you to acquire new vocabulary and express yourself creatively. My advice for anyone aiming to learn a new language is to read extensively. Successful learners are those who read frequently. I also know some French and a bit of German. I complete crosswords in German, enjoy French music, and read in both languages while teaching English at a language school. I aspire to learn Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic. To achieve this, I will seek out articles in those languages. Rather than setting short-term goals, I believe it's better to aim for long-term progress. Perseverance in all endeavors will yield results. Another key piece of advice is Carpe diem, which means seize the day, emphasizing the importance of daily studies and not wasting time.
