One of the things that Lin has learned by watching her mentor is that not all papers are accepted for publication immediately. I

n fact, Lin has seen that some of her mentor's articles are accepted for publication on the first try, some must go through a difficult "revise and resubmit" procedure before being accepted and some receive an outright rejection from a particular journal. However, what Lin has also seen is that even if her mentor's articles are not accepted on the first try, her mentor persists until the paper is eventually accepted- at the first journal tried or another journal.

Stimuli occurring in close temporal proximity will trigger similar responses. Behaviors that yield favorable outcomes are more likely to be repeated, while those resulting in negative outcomes are less likely to be repeated. Explain personality through learning principles. It involves considering how our behaviors are modified by life experiences. When events are closely associated, we make links between them. For instance, if a particular action leads to a positive result, such as working and getting paid, we are likely to continue that behavior. Conversely, if we experience a negative outcome, like burning our hand on a stove, we avoid repeating that action. Behaviorism helps us understand behavior and influences personality. Over time, we learn to behave in certain ways. Behaviorism studies how a person's actions are directly impacted by his or her surroundings, especially in terms of rewards and punishments. It operates on the belief that behavior causation is observable since it's rooted in the environment – the social world’s rewards and punishments. Functional analysis aims to uncover how behavior relates to one’s environment – situationism. Rewards and punishments inform us about how to conduct ourselves. We should examine external factors that influence our behavior. The goal of functional analysis is a key aspect of behaviorism. The person-situation debate posits that situations shape individuals, with the environment providing rewards or punishments. The situation can be more influential than individual traits. Empiricism serves as the cornerstone of behaviorism. Behaviorists assert that all valuable knowledge is gained through direct, observable experience. Private reflection, as practiced by Wundt, is deemed invalid since it cannot be verified. Attempts to access others’ thoughts through methods like psychoanalysis are similarly questionable. The idea of theorizing about unobservable mental entities is suspect. The only legitimate way to understand someone is by observing their behavior.

Doss [1333]
Marylyn displays high conscientiousness and low emotional stability. Conscientiousness refers to an individual's tendency to be organized, systematic, punctual, goal-oriented, reliable, and thorough. The five-factor personality model is based on common personality descriptors. A high level of conscientiousness can sometimes be misconstrued as stubbornness or obsession. Individuals who score low on emotional stability, also known as neuroticism, are often calm and composed, managing stress effectively without experiencing significant mood fluctuations.
