It is my opinion that it is immoral to beat and torture animals. A straw man fallacy occurs when one attacks an argument that isn't relevant to the original claim. The purpose of testing is not related to inflicting pain on animals, thus the counterclaim presented does not refute the initial statement. A more fitting counterclaim would concern the rights of animals, as they have no ability to refuse or consent to participate in experiments.
