Echo Air Company (EAC)Echo Air Co. is a well-known establishment in the airline business. It is currently one of the top firms i

n the industry. The company prides itself on good customer service and being concerned with the broader societal good. EAC management is not only concerned with doing things right, but also with doing the right things. Many of their decisions reflect this philosophy. Initially, the company had a problem with employees reporting their suspicions about unethical behavior to the press instead of to EAC management.
As a result, the company made sure its employees knew the firm's guidelines on fixing ethical issues. EAC also developed a code of conduct based on standards that continue to be upheld within the company. Since the code of conduct has been put in place, there have been fewer ethical violations.Although employee salaries at EAC are not as high as those at competing firms, the company experiences very low employee turnover. The firm has created a corporate culture that not only makes its employees want to stay, but that also results in higher profits.
If EAC can maintain the relationship it has built with its employees and customers, it will have little difficulty keeping up its remarkable success. Refer to Echo Air Company. Initially, employees were not willing to go to EAC management with ethical issues but would instead report them to the press.

A. whistle-blowing. Whistle-blowing happens when an employee reveals information about misconduct, unethical behavior, or illegal actions, either to internal or external entities. If employees feel that proper action won’t be taken regarding their concerns, they might disclose information to outside parties, as indicated in the case with EAC, where staff approached the media. EAC has since established a framework to enhance employee trust and reduce turnover.

Briefly describe Singapore’s new strategy for getting the economy back on track? Do you approve of this new strategy for getting
marusya05 [3725]

Response:

1. Stabilizing the Real Estate Market:

Due to the onset of economic instability, property and financial asset values plummeted sharply. Both strategies from Singapore and Hong Kong suggested halting government land sales until the fiscal year ends. Additionally, to diminish property supply further, the Singapore plan suggested enabling developers to postpone the completion of ongoing construction projects. To boost demand, stamp duties on uncompleted property purchases were deferred. Furthermore, the Hong Kong government implemented a demand-side approach by widening eligibility for starter loan and home purchase schemes.

2. Stabilizing the Financial Sector

:

The Singapore plan intended to prompt banks to adequately prepare for their loan exposures in the region. It annulled a 3% cap on tax deductions for general provisions prepared by banks and financial institutions. Stamp duties on contract notes were also eliminated. The Hong Kong strategy introduced tax exemptions on local interest earnings to encourage the repatriation of an estimated HK$200 billion in offshore deposits. This move would enhance liquidity within the banking sector and increase the supply of Hong Kong dollars.

3. Stimulating Business Activity

:

Both strategies put forward tax reliefs to lower business expenditures. The Singapore approach recommended additional 40% tax rebates on top of the existing 15% allocated in the budget for commercial and industrial properties. Rental alleviations were extended to tenants and lessees in government-operated industrial estates. Other incentives included tariff cuts and the suspension of parking surcharges. The Hong Kong plan also proposed measures for cost reduction such as rate rebates and a decrease in diesel duty. Fees charged to importers were subsequently lowered. This strategy aimed to assist small and medium enterprises in securing loans, potentially reducing bankruptcy rates and enabling unemployed individuals to launch their own businesses, which was encouraged by the Hong Kong government as the unemployment rate began to rise.

Free_Kalibri [3773]
Job shops are characterized as small-scale and flexible; in contrast, continuous processes are large-scale and rigid. Job shops are small manufacturing entities that create specific, customized products in limited quantities, often with unique setups that complicate cost estimation. Continuous processes entail a streamlined production flow without interruption, yielding larger quantities simultaneously rather than in batches, necessitating advanced control systems.
