Josephina is preparing Indian pudding for a party. She is cooking the pudding in a water-tight container submerged in boiling wa

ter. When the pudding is done, Josephina places the container of pudding out in the snow to cool down. When Josephina places the Indian pudding in the snow, the temperature of the pudding is 100°C. After 1 minute, the temperature of the pudding drops to 95°C.
a. Assuming the temperature is dependent on the minutes the pudding remains in the snow, formulate an exponential function to represent the problem situation.
Explain your process.

b. Graph the exponential function over an appropriate domain and range. Identify the key attributes including domain, range, intercept(s), and asymptotic behavior
and describe their meaning in the problem situation.
c. Josephina wants to serve the pudding when it is at a temperature of 10°C. How long will she need to leave the Indian pudding cooling in the snow for it to reach the desired temperature? Solve the problem algebraically, and round the answer to the nearest minute.

What is the relative frequency of the revenue earned by B&B Motors from sales of mini trucks compared to the total sales rev
Inessa [12570]

Answer: 0.46

Step-by-step explanation:

B&B Motors' mini trucks yield 0.59; all four companies combined yield 0.39; mini trucks yield 0.13. Hence, 0.59 - 0.13 equals 0.46.

An automobile manufacturer sold 30,000 new cars, one to each of 30,000 customers, in a certain year. The manufacturer was intere
babunello [11817]
A) To establish a sampling plan, follow these 5 steps:
    1) Identify the sample population: which customers will you reach out to?
       Those who purchased a new car during a specific year.
    2) Determine the population size: how many customers will you contact?
       From the 30,000 car buyers, select 1,000 customers to contact.
    3) Select contact method: what is your means of contacting customers?
       Since you have a list with names and addresses, mailing questionnaires is feasible.
    4) Define the sampling frame: what is the timeline or deadline for contacting customers?
       Send out questionnaires and allow two months for responses.
    5) Decide on the analysis approach: is your research qualitative or quantitative?
     You aim for quantitative research, so you will use probabilistic sampling.

B) The 32.5% probability relates only to those customers who experienced mechanical issues, specifically power door lock problems, and does not account for those without any problems or those reporting issues after the first 5,000 miles.

C) To estimate the probability of power door lock problems among all customers within the first 5,000 miles, consider the entire sample:
P = 13 / 1000 = 0.013

Therefore,
N = 0.013 × 30,000 = 390

Thus, the estimated number of new cars that had power door lock issues within 5,000 miles is 390.

For what values of x does the binomial 2x−1 take on a positive value?
zzz [12365]

Part A

To identify the values of x that make 2x−1 positive

⇒ 2x - 1 > 0

⇒ 2x > 1

⇒ x > \frac{1}{2}

As a result, for any x greater than \frac{1}{2}, the expression 2x-1 is positive

Part B

To find values of y making 21−37 negative

⇒ 21-3y < 0

⇒ 21 < 3y

⇒ 7 < y

Thus, for all y values exceeding 7, the expression 21-3y is negative

Part C

To identify values of c that digit 5−3c greater than 80

⇒ 5-3c > 80

⇒ -3c > 75

⇒ -c > 25

⇒ c < -25

Therefore, for values of c less than -25, the expression 5-3c surpasses 80
