Flura [7041]

This inquiry lacks the excerpt. I've located the entire question online. It's as follows:

Refer to the excerpt from chapter 7 of Night.

Meir Katz stayed on the train. The final day had been the deadliest. We started with around 100 individuals in this car. Only 12 exited it, including my father and me.

The primary goal of the author in this excerpt is to convey that ______

A) very few emerged alive from the dreadful train journey.

B) the author and his father managed to survive.

C) Meir Katz was not as resilient as he appeared.

D) Meir Katz was left to deal with the deceased.

Answer:

The main goal of the author in this excerpt is to illustrate that A) very few emerged alive from the dreadful train journey.

Explanation:

This passage highlights a single crucial aspect. Its main intention is to emphasize the terrible nature of the train ride, particularly the last night. Out of approximately 100 people traveling in the car, only 12 managed to exit. The author does state that both he and his father survived. However, the most critical point—and the most shocking information—is the number of fatalities. Hence, option A is the most accurate choice.

Read the excerpt from act 2 of A Doll's House.
Naddika [7460]

The two statements that accurately portray the conflict are:

  • "Helmer is domineering and reluctant to be perceived as one who allows his wife to influence him. "
  • "Helmer disapproves of Krogstad's attempt to equate himself with Helmer, and he intends to terminate Krogstad's employment at the bank."

Explanation: In Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House," societal norms dictate that Helmer should not yield to his wife's persuasion—society expects him to wield greater authority in their marriage. He is apprehensive that changing his stance for her will lead to a loss of esteem among his staff, stating, "Do you suppose I am going to make myself ridiculous before my whole staff, to let people think that I am a man to be swayed by all sorts of outside influence?"

Krogstad has known Helmer since childhood; though Helmer claims he wants to dismiss him due to his ethics, he actually wants to let him go because of Krogstad's overly familiar demeanor. Helmer finds Krogstad's casual approach uncomfortable and disrespectful, saying, "... he thinks it gives him the right to adopt a familiar tone with me, and every minute it is 'I say, Helmer, old fellow!' and that sort of thing. I assure you it is extremely painful for me.

Though your grades at BECE were very good none of the school you choose offered you admission. Write a letter to your district e
Bond [7527]

Answer:

Refer to the letter below

Explanation:

Oxfords International School,

23 Umuatako Road,

Aba.

July 14, 2020.

The District Education Officer,

Secondary Education Management Board,

Aba.

Sir,

SUBJECT: APPEAL AGAINST UNJUST ADMISSION REFUSAL

I am writing to respectfully appeal regarding the unjust refusal of my admission into class X, despite my commendable results in the 2020 BECE conducted on March 4, 2020.

On the aforementioned date, I took the BECE exam at Oxfords International School Aba and met the credit level requirements in all subjects as set by the Abia State Ministry of Education. I was one of the four top-performing students in my school who earned the principal's merit award for outstanding achievement in the 2020 BECE.

Nevertheless, my name did not appear on the placement list for class X admissions across the Aba district. I promptly reached out to my school principal, Dr. Moses Ineh, who forwarded my concerns to the head of the school examinations at the Aba district Education Commission. Unfortunately, the response was discouraging; I was informed that I must repeat class IX since the student placements to high schools had already been concluded with a complete list of admitted candidates sent to the Abia State Ministry of Education.

I kindly request your intervention in this matter, urging the head of school exams to assign me to a high school within the Aba district so that I may continue my education alongside my peers. Forcing me to retake the examination next year would be unjust given my strong performance this year. I have enclosed a copy of my result notification with this letter.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your favorable response.

Sincerely,

ЩЮЖ
