Dear Peter,

I hope you are healing well and that you can soon resume your regular activities. I was quite worried to hear that you would be unavailable for a while, but I believe you will quickly make up for lost time once you are back.

I wanted to share details about our recent activity, which I found thrilling and meaningful in terms of social impact, though some others in our group thought it was overwhelming and dull. We collaborated with an NGO for a day dedicated to beach cleanup in our city. We got to the beach early, and the leaders of the NGO gave us a brief talk about the dangers of littering and the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

After that, we were divided into teams, with each one assigned a section of the beach. Our primary task was to pick up all types of trash we encountered. I focused on sorting the waste based on recycling categories.

You might be surprised, but amidst a lot of plastic bottles and disposable cutlery, we discovered tires, a sofa, shoes, tables, and even a completely buried plastic tent, which was tricky to extract from the sand.

Despite the exhaustion and effort, it was very rewarding to contribute to reducing the negative impact humans have on the environment.

I plan to return next month for another session with the NGO. By then, I hope you'll have recovered and can join me.

Best wishes,
Alex Santanna.

Flura [3813]

Answer:

Recruits.

Explanation:

Synonyms are words that have meanings that are similar or nearly identical to another term or phrase.

Regarding the inquiry, the term 'recruits' can be equated to 'conscripts' since they express a comparable meaning within the context. 'Conscripts' suggests individuals who are mandated to enlist or join, particularly in military service, which aligns closely with the definition of 'recruits', meaning to enlist in the armed forces. The author uses the term in a satirical manner for 'the prisoners involved in U.S. army'. Hence, both expressions convey a related meaning.

Lady bird [4247]

Answer:

Antithesis

Explanation:

Antithesis refers to contrasting concepts that highlight differences. This is a literary device where two opposing ideas are positioned together within a sentence to create a striking effect. Patrick employs the contrasting terms 'empty' for the wallet and 'full' for the plate in his concluding remark. The contrast between empty and full results in a statement that has a strong impact.

Which sentence is the most subjective statement?   A. Bryan thanked the owners for the raise and vowed to continue his hard work
Naddik [4229]
Subjective explanations stem from or are shaped by individual experiences, beliefs, and thoughts.

I merely copied and pasted this to check if others had provided an answer; one individual claimed B and that response received 5 stars along with several thanks, so I would go with B. Additionally, B appears to be more objective as it's influenced by the person's feelings about the character.
